Liam had the role to play the boy in "The Sixth Sense" but his mother said "No because it was too obssessed with death"
Liam was supposed to also be accepted to go to Hogwarts unil J.K Rowling turned him down and had auditions instead. Then the
role had gone to the lucky Daniel Radcliffe boosting his populairty by millions. Liam says, "I'm glad that i didn't go
to hogwarts or play the role of the sixth sense if i did who knows where i'd be now"
Liam Padraic Aiken was born on January 7, 1990 in New York City. At the age of 6 he expressed
an interest in acting and got a part of Bobby Helmer in 1996's 'A doll's House' at Broadway. It went uphill for him from then.
His first TV job was a Ford Windstar commercial. In 1997 he got his first film role in 'Henry Fool' directed by Hal Hartley.
1998 was a busy year for him. He filmed three movies - 'Montana', where he played the role of a 'kid', 'The Object of My Affection',
wher he played the role of 'Nathan' and his biggest movie up to that time 'Stepmom' where he played to role of 'Ben Harrison'
opposite Julia Roberts, Susan Sarandon and Ed Harris. He also found the time to play in an episode of 'Law and Order', a TV
show. 1999 on the other hand was a quiet year. In 2000 he landed the role of young Emmanuele in 'I Dreamed of Africa' playing
opposite Kim Basinger. He traveled to Africa for filming. At that time he was also rumoured to have auditioned for the role
of Harry Potter in 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's (Sorcerer's) Stone. But since the author of the books, JK Rowling wanted
an all british cast, he lost to Daniel Radcliffe. In 2001 he played in two movies - 'Sweet November' with Keanu Reeves and
Charlize Theron and 'Rising Place' directed by Tom Rice. He also appeared in an episode of 'Law and Order: Criminal Intent'.
In 2002 he had the chance to play opposite Tom Hanks in 'Road to Perdition'. Jude Law also had a part in the film. In 2003
he landed his first lead role as Owen Baker in 'Good Boy'. 'It was odd receiving the part because it was the first major
role I'd been offered.' 'Good Boy was something different with challenging angles. I kind of liked the idea. Plus, I never
did a comedy before.' He played opposite a bunch of dogs. A really challenging scene for him was the one where he had to
cry over his beloved dog Hubble leaving. 'It was shot the last day so it was perfect. John (Hoffman, writer/director) said,
everything youve been doing for the last four months, just put it together right here.' After the filming was done, the
crew gave him his very own dog. An Italian greyhound who he named Kes. He was very attached to one of his co-star dogs, who
played Nelly and was also an Italian greyhound. In 2004 he got a part in a movie that will surely become a hit. 'Lemony
Snicket's a Series of Unfortunate Events' based on a book series of the same name by Daniel Handler. He plays one of the lead
parts of Klaus Baudelaire, one of the orphaned children set to stay with Count Olaf, their new guardian played by Jim Carrey.
Other big names include Jude Law, Meryl Streep and Timothy Spall. The part of Klaus will hopefully open new doors for him
and hopefully we can see him in many more films after that. Off set, Liam is an ordinary guy from New Jersey. He likes
skateboarding and doing magic tricks. He's also learning to play guitar. He doesn't know yet what the future holds for him.
Aside from acting he might try the directors job. But whatever way he chooses, he'll hopefully have a happy life.
